One issue has come up with the direct donations. It is important that donors provide Johnny's full name; Jonathan Michael Romano. Apparently quite a few people have tried to donate for Johnny Michael Romano. I guess the computer system doesn't recognize "Johnny."
Thanks again. Without people willing to give blood Johnny would have passed long ago. It really is the gift of life.
BTW WBC down to 11 at the 10a labs! The Clofarabine is taking a toll though.

regrettably, i do not know if i am eligible to donate blood. i have had chronic anemia most of my life. however, i have been tanking up on my iron, and had a blood work-up done yesterday. if everything is good, and i can get the thumbs up from my doctor, i will do what i can to make a donation.

For friends/family in Dallas. I asked about the credits and this is their response.
Just an FYI:
Donors can donate at any Carter BloodCare Donor Center on behalf of the patient. However, the Blood Bank, which services that Hospital does not accept credits on behalf of their patients through the National Blood Exchange of which we are Members. But, we can work directly with the parents of the Patient, if this is acceptable, and reimburse them.
When Donors go into the Donor Centers to donate, they should let the Tech know that they want to do a Replacement Credit on behalf of the patient. They will then be given a “Plan Designation Form” to fill out. At the bottom of the Form, they should put the Patient’s Name, Home Address, Telephone Number, Date of Birth, and the Hospital & City. I can then send a Letter out to the Parents letting them know that credits are available here for Jonathan Michael Romano. I’ll request some Documentation from them in order to process a Claim, and reimburse them directly, for the UNINSURED portion of the Blood Products paid out of pocket, from the credits.

Kim gave me your blog information yesterday. Man, I must have been living under a rock...I had no clue what was going on with your precious son, Johnny. I haven't been able to stop reading about Johnny since I have logged on. I started from 2005 and feel like you are all part my family now. You have made me feel every emotion possible.... incredible highs and heart-breaking lows. You both amaze me with your strength and faith. And, what can I say about Johnny other than he is the coolest kid in the entire world! He is absolutely precious.... I have never skate boarded before but now I want to get on a board and roll around just to be more like him!
I went to donate today in Johnny's name....I felt like it was the least that I could do. I was inspired by Johnny's courage. Please know that you are all in my prayers and may you have peace in your hearts.
